- <p> The youth of today may be the patrons of tomorrow, but
- classical music is losing those potential subscribers to rock
- 'n' roll. "There has been a real panic in this industry," says
- DAVID EATON, conductor of the New York City Symphony. Eager to
- reel in the younger crowd, the orchestra is trying a meeting of
- the minds by teaming up with the heavy-metal group ANCESTORS at
- Carnegie Hall next week. The concert will include three
- Ancestors tunes rearranged for orchestral accompaniment. "It's
- like a reconciliation between enemies," says lead singer Joe
- Longo.
